Position Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to evaluate finished product to determine to reject product that does not meet the quality standards of OWS. Additionally, package product into perspective packaging making sure information is correctly printed on the label and the amount of product in each package is consistent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

– Inspects cooked product for obvious deficiencies during each step in the packaging process.
– Takes the cooked product and breaks it down to a suitable size for packaging.
– Loads the cooked broken down product into a container or piece of equipment at a suitable rate for use at the packaging machine.
– Removes the product from a container and places it into the packaging machine at a rate of speed to satisfy production demands for the style of product being packaged.
– Deposits labels or carded inserts into packages prior to completion of the packaging process at a rate of speed to satisfy production demands for the style of product being packaged.
– Labels packaged product prior to placement into shipping carton.
– Prepares containers used for holding and shipping of the product being packaged.
– Boxes and palletize packaged product.
– Cleans packaging containers.
– Starts, stops, and regulates speed of conveyor.
– Inserts or pours product into containers or fills containers from spout or chute or hopper. Closes and seals containers.
– Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
– Labels and sort containers, container tags, or products.
– Packs special arrangements or selections of product.
– Takes responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Report all food safety and quality related problems to supervisor, manager, or to the QA department to initiate immediate action.
– Other duties as assigned.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. – Prefer education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma;
– Prefer 1-3 months of manufacturing, high speed packaging, or food manufacturing experience.
– Requires a proven track record in acceptable levels of attendance, safety and quality of work.
– Requires a basic understanding of GMP’s, HACCP and SQF guidelines.
– Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
– Requires basic communication skills in order to interact with and understand work assignments.
– Requires ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Requires ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
– Must be able to stand/ walk for 8-9 hours per day.
– Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, up to 100 pounds occasionally.
– Must be able to bend, twist, stoop and squat, reach above shoulders as needed for day to day responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
– Must have good hand and eye coordination.
– Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
– Must be able to work overtime, during peak production periods.

Enjoy a guaranteed 4-day work week (Monday – Thursday) in a fast, physical & exciting place to be! In this role, you’ll be handling the world’s best wines and spirits every night in our state-of-the-art facility. You are responsible for accurately, efficiently and safely pulling products and loading up our trucks for next day deliveries to thousands of our customers across the state. Shift starts at 5:00pm.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

-Assemble orders from stock and place on warehouse conveyor system for proper loading onto delivery vehicles
-Accurately, efficiently and safely place cases of product in proper sequence onto delivery vehicles while limiting/avoiding breakage
-Must comply with all warehouse policies and procedures to include operating equipment according to safety standards set
-Provide continuous improvement feedback and communication to management
-Pre-pick product for staging to be used for filling orders
-Replenish rack and roller system within the warehouse for next day’s activities
-Label product with proper label to ensure placement on the appropriate delivery vehicle
-Provide input into improving efficiencies, safety, quality, processes, etc.
-Perform basic housekeeping in assigned area of the warehouse
-Operate forklift to fill zones or racking as needed
-Conduct physical inventory count as needed
-May be required to attend company meetings on non-scheduled workdays
-May be required to assist with grounds maintenance as needed
-Pick all point-of-sale items to be distributed to sales bins or to be placed on delivery vehicles, where
applicable
-Assist with minor repairs on the conveyor system when needed, where applicable
-Unload product from transfer trucks and load into warehouse, where applicable
-Use R.F. Gun for picking product and moving product from one location to the next, where applicable
-Assist in moving trucks in and out of loading bays and delivering product to accounts when needed,
where applicable
-Assist drivers with route deliveries as a helper when needed, where applicable
-Required to work (regular or overtime) or provide on call support on any day, may include nights,
weekends and holidays
-Additional duties as assigned by management

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

-Forklift Certification required (must obtain within 90 days of hire)
-Experience in a distribution and/or sales environment preferred

Due to the fast paced, highly physical demands of the position, job candidates will be required to complete a Post Offer Pre-Employment Physical (POPE). Job candidates must pass all aspects of the POPE to qualify for the position.
