Responsibilities Include:

  • Understand and review work orders, diagrams, check lists, and blue prints
  • Ability to weld Mild Steel or Stainless Steel from 18 Gauge up to ½” plate.
  • Able to set up and adjust welder to ensure proper penetration for different materials as needed
  • Heats, bends, cuts, fits, grinds and clean material as required
  • Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead conditions
  • Mark and tack components in a specified sequence (as required) to prepare for welding process
  • Inspects welds as work progresses in order to ensure that weld quality meets print specifications
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area and safe shop environment
  • Obey all safety regulations and wears proper safety equipment at all times
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks
  • Use and operate hand and power tools
  • Lift light and/or heavy parts on and off a cart, floor, shelf, etc.
  • Operate a crane/hoist for heavy lifting
  • Retrieving and transporting parts and equipment to designated areas
  • Communicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environment
  • Assist co-workers with heavy lifting of parts
  • Understand the differences in parts and tools
  • Work required hours and have an excellent attendance record
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Sweep and clean shop area
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

 Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions

  • Technical Degree in Welding
  • At least one year of welding experience with GMAW and GTAW
  • Experience with sheet metal and structural fabrication, welding and manufacturing equipment and techniques and reading blue prints
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a hands on positive attitude
